Environmental & Sustainability Policy

Our commitment to our planet

Access Xpress recognises that our company operations impact the environment. We are committed to operating in a way that meets the current needs of our customers without sacrificing the future of our planet. We pledge to conduct our business where environmental and sustainable matters are a fundamental strategy, whilst minimizing the environmental impacts through best practice management controls of our use of energy, transportation, material consumption, water use, waste, and emissions.

Logistics, deliveries and courier services are often perceived as an anti-environmental business sector. We do not accept that we can’t or won’t make decisions to minimise our carbon footprint and the general impact on the planet that we share. We are committed to assessing the environmental impact of our operations. By setting clear and achievable targets, periodically reviewing our policies and procedures, we can commit towards the continual improvement of our environmental management system to enhance environmental performance and ongoing prevention of pollution by the following objectives.

We will:

  • Continually develop environmental management systems and procedures to ensure compliance with local authorities’ regulatory and legislative requirements relating to the environment

  • Establish documented environmental objectives based on our significant environmental impacts aspects, compliance obligations and our risks and opportunities

  • Provide employee training to enhance the environmental awareness of our staff, ensuring environmental issues are considered, controlled, and managed throughout the business operations

  • Develop a sustainable approach to business, in partnership with our suppliers, subcontractors clients and other stakeholders by conserving energy, minimising consumption, and utilisation of low pollution materials, maximising efficiency and implementing an effective Waste Management Hierarchy

  • Ensure that we integrate sustainability considerations into our business decisions

  • Maintain an Integrated Management System that incorporates the Environmental Management System (EMS)

  • Commitment to the prevention of pollution and minimizing environmental impact through energy-efficient plant and processes and effective recycling policies

  • Effective controls to protect the environment from any significant environmental impacts arising from our business activities

  • Commitment to the continual improvement in our environmental performance, through the implementation of our EMS, and the establishment of measurable environmental objectives and targets. These will be documented, implemented, maintained, monitored, and reviewed periodically.

  • Promote responsibility for the environment;

  • Work with our customers and suppliers to develop sustainable practices, products and services;
